Businesses today want to provide mobile-optimized websites and there are two ways to do this, mobile website design and responsive website design.
Difference in url
The most noticeable difference is the url structure.
A mobile website will have a url based on the url of the desktop version website: m.domain.com or a completely separate url like domainmobile.com. This means there are 2 versions of the website – if not handled carefully, the website can have duplicate content issues.
Responsive website has only 1 unique url.
Different content
Having 1 mobile website means you have 2 website versions, the content of the mobile web may be different from the main website. There are many features, the content is omitted in the mobile version.
With responsive web, the content is one, the content when displayed on the website will be full when displayed on mobile devices.
Size difference
Mobile webs are built specifically for small devices. So when viewed on desktop, this version is disproportionately sized.
Responsive websites automatically change the layout to fit all devices. This provides a better and more flexible experience, keeping customers on the website.
